Latest News Educational materials were distributed to the ‘Dropout Prevention Centre’ children who are studying in the centers of our target areas. Almost 1826 children received the educational materials and it was distributed during the parents meetings.
Latest News Two School Enrollment Campaigns were organized in all our target villages. Almost 2000 children participated in each campaign. Nearly 297 students were mainstreamed to normal schools.

Latest News On 25th June ‘10 there was a cluster level meeting and training, organized for the self help groups’ representatives. Ms.Thilagavathy, Advocate enlightened the women by her empirical sharing on ‘women and movement’. Nearly 62 women participated in the cluster meeting and training.
Latest News On 26th June ‘10 children’s parliament cluster meeting was organized in VEMBU followed by the training. Totally 109 children participated in the training which was facilitated by Mr. Kennedy, the programme coordinator which was on ‘Social Analysis.
Latest News There were two days folk arts training for the drop out prevention centre children from 17.07.10 to 18.07.10.Totally 56 children participated in the training from where few children were selected as members of SIRPI cultural team.

Vembu is a non-governmental and non-profit organization aimed at societal integration. It is a maiden venture of the Salesians of Don Bosco of Trichy Province to reach the unreached in the Souther n part of Tamil Nadu with a special focus on the children, youth and women at risk in the rural areas.


Taking its nature from Vembu (neem tree in Tamil),
it acts as a holistic catalyst decrying societal ills
and brings harmony and justice.
Vembu is registered under Indian Trust Act
(TN 13/2000: 22/09/2000).
